We stayed at the Novotel Dongdaemun for around a week in late October. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would come again. We'd give it 8.5-8.8 points (which rounded up is 9). Pros: - The staff are efficient and helpful. We ended up having a late lunch at the restaurant one day, and the staff extended the kitchen hours to take in one last order. - Location is excellent. It has great connectivity to various neighbourhoods and tourist areas (Itaewon, Gangnam, Myeongdong, Gwanghamun, Insadong) through Seoul's public transport system. The subway and bus stations are also very close to the hotel (roughly 3-7 minutes walk depending on which station). - Food was easy. Lots of cafes, convenience stores and restaurants nearby. As Muslim travellers, the Russian Street about two lanes away from the hotel was a boon because there was easy access to halal food. There were also a few small supermarkets nearby, but you would have to go much farther afield to get a bigger supermarket like Lotte since there weren't any in the area. - Good housekeeping and rooms. Everything was clean and the bed is comfy. The kitchen in the residences is fully equipped; it even came with an electric rice cooker.

We stayed for a total of almost 8 weeks at this hotel. Overall the residence facilities were good, and for anything lacking, we only needed to make a request. The staff's English was good enough to get by, and in fact, much better than most places in Seoul. We wanted to thank the concierge staff particularly who made our stay extra special and more comfortable, including but not limited to Robin, Zoe, Sarah and also thanks to Bomi! Though we've stayed at more luxurious 5* hotels, it was the attitude of the staff that helped to make this hotel feel 5*. Please continue to keep up your high levels of customer service.

The residence rooms were comfortable and the in room amenities was truly great. Washing machine, full set of utensils, Nespresso machine and microwave were very useful. The Japanese style toilets with buddy was a plus point for this hotel. The location which was a 5 mins walk to Dongdaemun History & Culture Station makes this a desirable location to stay when at Seoul. Also there is a restaurant called Kebabway nearby, run by Mr. Saad which makes the loveliest kebabs and fries we have ever had. Great for people looking for halal food at this area . I would gladly stay here on my next visit to Seoul.

The hotel is beautiful, staff were super helpful. The room I booked was amazing, just like in the pictures online, clean, spacious and comfortable, super happy that my room had a bathtub. The hotel smelled lovely and was very clean with amazing views on the upper levels. The breakfast restaurant had a wonderful selection of food to choose for breakfast with a lovely view.

Rooms were clean, though a bit small. 2 adults and 2 prisch kids fit comfortably enough on 3 single beds (we pushed two tog). Sockets for SG plugs are available, lol. Gym was well-equipped and maintained for holiday workout purposes (treadmills, think I saw an elliptical and stationary bike), decent range of free weights, weight machines and kettlebells.
